What Grief Before Loss Support Offers You
Your loved one may have received a terminal diagnosis, or they may be declining with a deteriorating condition such as dementia. If so, you may be feeling:
- You feel devastated and don’t know how to hold yourself together when you’re with them.
- You’re trying to be strong for them, yet you have no idea how to get through your day without falling apart.
- You try talking to others in the hope they’ll understand, but all you hear is, “What’s the issue? They haven’t died yet!”
- You’re exhausted from the physical and emotional pain you’re carrying while still trying to work, care for your family, and support your loved one.
- You look to the future and all you can see is the ache of what life will be like without them.
- You’ve put your life on hold, unable to plan ahead — or grieving the future you thought you would share.
- You want to scream at the unfairness of it all. You may be asking, Why is this happening? Why me? Why them?
- You don’t know how to get through each day, let alone how you’ll cope after they’ve gone.
- You know there are important conversations you need to have — about their wishes, their care, the practicalities — but you have no idea how to begin them.
All of these thoughts, feelings, and emotions are completely valid and natural. They are a testament to the depth of love you feel for your loved one.
You don’t have to carry this alone.

- Gentle grief education to help you understand what anticipatory grief is, why you’re feeling the way you do, and how to normalise your experience.
- Self‑care practices and coping techniques to support your nervous system, reduce overwhelm, and help you function while carrying so much.
- Healing modalities and Integral Eye Movement Technique (IEMT) when appropriate, to ease emotional intensity and support your wellbeing.

- Intuitive support with a spiritual foundation, offering a gentle inner guidance that helps me understand what you may need in each moment, always used in a way that aligns with your own beliefs and comfort.
- WhatsApp support between sessions, so you don’t have to hold everything alone between our conversations.
Lindsey’s experience of anticipatory grief: I have first-hand, lived experience, of anticipatory grief with both my parents and unfortunately at that time, I was not aware that this kind of grief had a specific name! Had I realised, I would have sought support from a coach to help me through such a difficult and devastating experience. I was expected to continue working and living as though nothing had changed, despite the diagnoses of a terminal illness for one parent and dementia for the other. And yet life had changed, and grief, anticipatory or otherwise, changes each of us – so this experience has led me to learn all about grief, as well as given me the passion to support YOU!
In addition, I have been an advocate for many years, supporting people to have their wishes and rights adhered to. And when it came to supporting my parents with their wishes towards the end of their lives, I was there to make sure everything was put in place. Difficult conversations were had however were done with love and grace and with every kindness. So within this support, coaching will help you to have the potentially challenging conversations and to make sure you can support your loved one(s) in the way that they wish, within their final chapter.
